Thanks to Mayor Palmer's transparent executive management of Willow Park, we now have a list of the salaries and benefits of employees of the three Enterprise Accounts - Water, Wastewater, and Drainage. City Administrator Bryan Grimes did a great job of discussing these salary numbers and how they fit into the three Enterprise Accounts. Details in linked blog.

During the 10 September 2024 Council Meeting, Willow Park Citizens are encouraged to speak and guide our elected officials, who have approved a property tax rate increase of $.0349, for a proposed property tax of $.432546 per $100 property value. In addition, there wii also be a Public Hearing on the City's 2024/2025 budget.

During the 13 August 2024 Council Meeting, the City proposed a “small tax rate increase” of .0349¢ because of the increases in both M&O (maintenance and operation) and I&S (debt payments). Willow Park Citizens are encouraged attend and speak during the next two Council meetings, 27 August and 10 September.

While the City is celebrating its proposed real estate property tax rate decrease of $.14, don't get out your party hats, quite yet. The citizens of Willow Park will have a new, additional tax of $.10 levied by the Emergency Service District 1. And there's more buzzkill.

During the 14 March 2023 Council Meeting, (agenda item 5, video time stamp 5:10) the city's audit firm Snow, Garrett & Williams, presented the Annual Audit Report on the Willow Park 2021-22 financial activities. During her final comments (on the Internal Control Letter, page 68) Reba Long, an auditor with Snow, Garrett & Williams, remarked we "didn't have any control or compliance findings... Definitely, your staff is to be commended, we don't see that a lot with cities." The Audit Report cover letter supports her claim; Willow Park had a "clean audit."

• Background: The 2021 Annual Audit was performed by Clifton Larson Allen, LLP. We were advised by them that a Single Audit was not necessary. In July of 2022 we were contacted by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) stating that they passed through federal grant funds and/or state grant funds to our local government from one or more federal or state programs. ... Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200 Subpart F: 200.512 (a) states federal grant sub-recipients are required to submit a Single Audit report... We contacted our new auditing firm Snow Garrett Williams... They performed the single audit for us and it is being presented for you approval.
